HELLFIRE (European/US) UNOFFICIAL PATCH README v1.02
#DIABLO HELLFIRE PATCH 1.01 FOR 64 FULL#
I checked online and the only successful strategy I could find was "hide behind walls and abuse Guardian to kill him while he can't attack back", yet his HP was so bloated that even a full belt of Full Mana potions only took off about 20% of his health and by that time the Map of the Stars had failed, turning Diablo effectively invincible.

I played a Necromancer, and while I was able to get to Diablo after a few tries his apocalypse spell literally melted my whole summon army in a single cast, turning me into a sorcerer with no special spells, no mana shield, and 50 magic. Furthermore the "Map of the Stars" quest actually makes it so that if you don't kill Diablo in about an hour after starting the game, he becomes super-powered and forces you to restart. Also the respawning prevents saving, so have fun dealing with a 30 min slog through the final level each time you want to try to fight Diablo (and probably be killed in 20s). Diablo 1 is supposed to be grindless, if you can't get something on your first go then you've failed the game.

This means rather than needing to properly balance the areas to be doable on the 1st go, they can just put OP as fuck bosses and tell players to grind until they get strong enough. The other 2 pre-diablo bosses aren't too bad but then Diablo himself is even worse.īy far the biggest sin Belzebub commits is that it enables Diablo 2-style respawning of areas and enemies. The boss at the north end of the stage? Yeah he's a complete PITA.
